Hong Kong 2015 - Day 02

The plan for today is Disneyland, Hong Kong!

Hong Kong Disneyland is located on reclaimed land in Penny's Bay, Lantau Island.

The only way to Disneyland is by taking the train. Which started our magical journey to the "happiest place in the earth".

The train is exclusive to Disneyland, so be amazed by the outlook of the train and the things within each cabin.

Even the handles are in the shape of Mickey!

The theme park is located in Disneyland Resort, hence when we alighted from the train, this signage greeted us.

It was quite a walk in before we reach the ticketing booths.

The tickets are priced differently for residents and non-residents: we bought a 1-Day Standard Ticket (at HK$ 539 each).

Lucky us to get matching Toy Story's Woody & Jessie pictures on the back of our tickets.

The park was quite crowded by the time we went in, given that it was already 3PM when we got there. We couldn't get decent photos wherever we went, but we try our best.

The Mickey Main Street Station and its iconic floral depiction of Mickey Mouse, that same one that you'd find in all Disneyland parks.

There was a float parade going on when we arrived.

It left the kid in us star-struck as we meet our favourite characters.

As we walked further in, we saw the iconic Sleeping Beauty's castle.

Trivia: the Sleeping Beauty Castle is a Disney icon and this castle in Hong Kong is a carbon copy of its sibling in the US.

Not much photo opportunity as we went around taking the rides and trying to beat the crowd before it gets dark.

Call us less-adventurous but our favourite ride of all was the Mystic Manor.

Till now we are still quite baffled by the moving chairs that don't seem to have any tracks to guide them along. How magical!

Another round of float parade with plenty of LED lights before the day ended with light show and fireworks at Sleeping Beauty's castle!

Disneyland, we'd be back... but maybe not this one at Hong Kong.
