Be it locally or other parts of the world, the common thing that most look out for in a bride is:
- how grand the gown is;
- how special the gown is;
- or in local context, how many different gowns were used in the entire wedding.
Ever since the date of the wedding had been set, Justina had been busy scouting for her wedding gowns. Getting a package from a bridal studio was never in her mind due to the many hidden costs and inflexibility based on reviews given by existing customers.
Hence, her decision was:
- to rent a bridal gown from Bridal Affairs for the AD (fitting to be done in October 2013);
- to purchase affordable bridal gowns for the photoshoots; and
- to recycle dresses from the ROM ceremony in 2010.
Purchasing of bridal gown is a tricky affair since any alteration requires you to find a seamstress yourself.
However, there were gowns which had a flexible structure at the back that allows room for weight gain or lost!
Notice how the design resembles that of a corset?
It enables the wearer to tighten or loosen the gown to fit.
It was an ideal design for those who intended to purchase their own bridal gown. And Justina was quick to ensure that the gowns she was looking at had consist of such design.
Since the wedding gown purchased was to be used in photoshoot, Justina's main concern on the gowns purchased was the price tag. The quality of the gown could be compromised given the budget, but it was of little concern as long as the gown was presentable in the photographs.
Scouting through dozens of websites, from Singapore and even from China, she finally found a local website which is able to customise dresses to fit at an affordable price.

Best part is, the gowns are really affordable.
Our original plan was to purchase 1 gown for the photoshoot. But when we were given the price, Justina couldn't resist buying another.
Here are what she chose:

With the price of each gown being S$200 for a customised-fit (i.e. made-to-measure), it's of little wonder why we have gotten 2 gowns instead of 1. Since the gowns were made to measure, it required 3-4 weeks to be done.
The order was made at the end of June 2013 and by end of July 2013 it was ready for collection at either Raffles Place MRT or Jurong East MRT.
The gowns were very nicely done with good workmanship. But of all, it fits!
Photo of the bride in her gown shall be released when the photoshoot is done.
So stay tuned!
