[By Justina]
Looking at the e-card reminds us of our story.
Though we met at a regular car meet-up, our love blossom due to macarons.
If Shawn didn't thoughtfully surprise me with some macarons to cheer me up after a horrible day at work, our story won't have started off .
Since macarons played a rather important part of our story, we were wondering if we should have macarons as our wedding favors.
Yet another dilemma to add to the list of wedding preparations!

Makeup By K.Lin
Justina's BFF, Karen Lin, from her poly school days had recently became a Professional Make-Up Artist. To show her support, Justina will be getting Karen to make her pretty for the photoshoots and the actual day.
Since Karen needed a model for her portfolio, Justina went to assist Karen, giving her free rein to experiment with the styles that suited Justina for the wedding.
The first style was fit for a Princess complete with the tiara.
The second style was inspired to showcase Justina's recent hair-color.
Most friends commented that they had preferred the second hair-do as they felt it suits Justina's personality.
Even Justina herself is amazed that Karen was able to do her hair into a style that she likes without having informed her beforehand.
* Read more about Justina's day with Karen on her personal blog:

By the way, if you love the hair-do or makeup, feel free to contact Karen Lin for her services.

Wedding favors dilemma
Hesitating on whether to get such bottles and fill them with sweets that we got for each other during our courtship days.
It would make a meaningful wedding favor, but will also burn a hole in our pockets.
We have 11 months to decide though!
In the mean time, just thinking if we have any use for this lovely looking dish at Daiso.
Ideas anyone?

Hotel CONFIRMED
It's official:
We are holding our banquet at GOODWOOD PARK HOTEL.
Based on our criterias listed previously , Goodwood Park Hotel fitted all:
1. How "Grand" the hotel is?
Justina admits to being a brand whore. She would choose a pricey run-down place over an average beautiful hotel anytime. Being a luxury 5-star hotel, Goodwood Park Hotel met Justina's requirement any time.
Apart from being a luxury hotel, the heritage look was the ideal wedding location for our wedding lunch. It allows us to be more casual for a weekend lunch affair.
Did we also mention that the wedding will serve menu from the award-wining Min Jiang restaurant?
How's that for being Grand enough?
2. Does the older generation (i.e. our grandparents) know the place?
Tell your grandparents "良木园酒店" and they'd tell you about the place being own by Singapore's richest man, Philanthropist Khoo Teck Puat.
So does the older generation know about the place? We're sure they know it better than anyone born in the 1900s.
3. How does the ballroom look?
Based on our estimated guest of 350, we are expected to use the Windsor Ballroom which has a capacity of up to 380 guest.
The Windsor ballroom is octagon-shaped with mirrors lining the walls. Though it sound rather traditional, we bet it'd be a hit with the old folks!
4. Is the carpark friendly for the cars coming to our wedding?
Did we mention that sometimes we would park at Goodwood Park Hotel to enjoy the "per entry" parking rate while shopping at Orchard for hours?
For a "tiong chia" (a slang term for modified vehicles of cars enthusiast) like what Shawn owns: if he can park there, so can our fellow "tiong chia" group of friends!
With all the criteria met, we didn't go for any other site-inspections as mentioned previously.
We are the type who would go for any hotel as long as we like it, rather than the perks it offers. Hence it was a bonus when Goodwood Park Hotel offered these in our package:
* Free flow of beer from 1pm to 4pm for consumption during the banquet only
* 02 bottles of house wine per confirmed table
* Complimentary 03 bbq Peking Duck to be served (butler-styled) during the cocktail reception
* S$100.00 nett credit for orders from in-room dining menu
* 01 Day use room from 10am to 1pm
* Additional 5% complimentary car park passes
(The above are the special perks for the wedding workshop on the 20 April 2013.)
Now that the hotel is confirmed, we can take a breather before the next item to settle!
